Please take some time to check out this article about roommate agreement. This is a great way to get conversations started when you are preparing to live with roommates.

13 Items You Absolutely Must Include in a Roommate Agreement

In addition, there are a few other good practices when it comes to renting and living with roommates that we would like to highlight:

1. We highly recommend you read any lease agreement THOROUGHLY before signing, keeping an eye out for these key elements:

    • Rent Deposit
    • Cost & Guidelines for breaking the lease
    • Subleasing Guidelines
    • Pet Deposits/extra costs

2. We also highly recommend keeping a shared list of account information for Utility Accounts (Electricity, Wifi, etc.). This way, you all have access to Utility information if needed.

3. We recommend creating a written Roommate Agreement including details regarding bill payments, guest policy, quiet hours, etc.

FAQs

What is USM's calendar & weekly schedule?

USM classes begin at the end of August and continue through May. See First Year Calendar for specific dates.

During the school year, we meet weekly, Monday through Thursday from 8a – 2p and including weekend services. 

What are Transformation Groups?
While in USM, you will be welcomed into the homes of trusted individuals in our community alongside 10 to 11 of your classmates. During these weekly meetings, you will have the opportunity to build community within USM under the covering of your Transformation Group leaders. We encourage you to dive deep, show up fully as yourself, and pursue connection with both your fellow students and TG leaders.
What does tuition cover?

Tuition covers all classes, books, and the Fall Retreat. Tuition does not cover any living expenses while in Dallas.

Do you provide financial aid?

Unfortunately, we do not provide financial aid at this time.

Can I receive college credit for USM?

Yes. After completing one year of UPPERROOM School of Ministry in Dallas, your time in USM can be transferred to The King’s University, Faith International University or Pacific Rim Christian University for some college credit.

Can I work while attending school?
As a student, you will commit approximately 25 hours of your week. This gives you the ability to work a part-time job while in school.

However, for some students, it can be difficult to balance the homework load while also maintaining a job. We suggest seeking the Lord and wise counsel on the best fit for you.
